Dr Shengke Zhi raised money for frontline NHS staff in Wythenshaw hospital

Shengke and Trafford Chinese community raised £2870.11 to support the frontline NHS staff from Wythenshawe hospital combating the COVID.

Conservative candidate for Bowdon raised the money from donations and sponsorships in May 2020 during the first lockdown and named Manchester Foundation Trust Charity (Wythenshawe hospital is part of it) as a worthy recipient.

Shengke said: " Wythenshawe hospital does a wonderful job of saving lives and combating COVID. We understand there is a need to purchase more PPEs for the frontline nurses and doctors in Wythenshawe hospital where there is a critical shortage. The British Chinese community in Trafford wanted to show how appreciated we are of the work all those at Wythenshawe hospital carry out. We want to protect our NHS staff through the pandemic. I am delighted to work with my British Chinese fellows to raise as much money as possible."

Jo Thomas, Community Fundraising Officer of Manchester Foundation Trust Charity, said: "We are very grateful to Dr Shengke Zhi and Trafford Chinese community who support us through the COVID-19 outbreak and raising a fantastic amount of £2870.11 for our staff wellbeing fund!"
