Formal Response: The Future of Transportation from Richard Holden MP Chairman of the Conservative Party

The letter was written as below:

" I want to begin by thanking you for your hard work in this fantastic report, 'The Future of Transportation'. I must admit, having previously been PPS for Transport, this being the topic of my first CPF report is quite fitting. But of course, the most important part of it all is seeing our members engaging with the policy forum, and having a real, direct impact on Party policy. Seeing at least 392 constituencies across the country with established CPF groups, and having 88 contribute to this piece of work alone, is a true testament to the dedication and diversity of our CPF membership.

" Firstly, I am delighted to see a report on transport not revolving primarily around potholes! Instead, the CPF have brought forward some brilliant forward-thinking ideas that can really contribute to a brighter future for the transport sector. It was great to read that many see how the energy sector and the transport sector must work hand-in-hand in order to progress the market. We cannot improve our EV networks without the right infrastructure. And we must ensure that the upgrading of our national grid doesn't come at the cost of working people and their energy bills.

" I also found the views on data protection and vehicle insurance very interesting to read. As the market and its technology progresses, so must our policies and protections. This is why it is so reassuring to see the concerns of the public match what we are doing within government to protect the data of our citizens. Examples such as the AI summit hosted by the Prime Minister, as well as the implementation of the Online Safety Bill, show how your concerns are also our concerns. Data safety is at the forefront of our minds, and we look forward to taking your suggestions presented in this document to our policy advisers.

" Thank you once again, to each and every member of the CPF, for your contributions. I look forward to reading further such reports in the coming months. "

Yours sincerely,

Richard Holden MP

Chairman of the Conservative Party
