Conservatives promise new leisure centers

“ We need places fit for the 21st century, not 'past their best' leisure centres” Said Dr Shengke Zhi.

Residents complain that Trafford's Leisure Centres are not fit for purpose.

Labour promised in 2018 to continue the Conservative plans to build new Leisure Centres but they have since reneged, instead opting to go ahead with refurbishments, leaving buildings with high running costs in place.

Conservatives are proposing a new building programme to deliver new Leisure Centres in Altrincham, Sale and Stretford.

Labour's refurbishment plan doesn't go far enough to address the substantial issues that the existing Leisure Centres face It also doesn't meet their election promises to Trafford residents. Despite the worn out appearance of the Borough's Leisure Centres, they are very popular with residents so it is vital to renew these facilities before the popularity wanes.

Investing in new centres will be a shot in the arm for public Leisure Centres in Trafford.
