CAT 5 bus debacle

Transport for Greater Manchester, at last, agreed to meet and get the bus problem resolved Many problems have been created for numerous Bowdon Ward residents, especially those living in Dunham Massey and Warburton, by the loss of one of the CAT 5 bus routes.

With the route through Dunham Massey stopped from operating due to issues around the height of vehicles going under the canal bridge, would be passengers are pressing for action to restore the vital service.

Bowdon councillor, Michael Whetton called for a meeting with TfGM who are best placed

to find a resolution. After several attempts to get the parties around a table, a meeting

took place just before Christmas, involving local Conservative councillors and Parish councillors from Dunham Massey and Warburton. TfGM agreed that the situation is intolerable and it was pledged that the current impasse will change soon. The bus service must be reinstated to provide essential links between rural communities and nearby towns.
