Rubbish collections!

Trafford still awaits a regular full service for waste and recycling collections. Pandemic, HGV drivers and excess loads are all paraded as the reasons for our collections to be regularly in disarray.

"Residents should not need to chase every week to get their bins emptied."

Too many collections are cancelled and certainly not all are due to HGV driver issues.

Bowdon Ward councillors take up numerous cases and endeavour to get replacement collections to take place as soon as possible. Often though, the service run by Amey, cannot get a replacement collection arranged and residents have to await the next routine pick up.

Our Labour-controlled Council has yet to get a grip of the problems besetting the service, despite their bold claims at the time that they took control of the Council.

Conservatives in Trafford continue to make representations about the standards of the service, calling for a more reliable performance to be established. Bowdon councillor Mussadak Mirza said "The system needs sorting out. Residents should not need to chase every week in order to get their bins emptied. Collections should operate properly and automatically in order to provide the expected service for residents."

In October 2019, Trafford Council introduced a new bin collection system which has failed residents leading to thousands of bin collections being missed and increased in vermin.

Conservative candidate for Bowdon Dr Shengke Zhi committed himself to having a reliable bin collection.
